Holiday Drink Recipes

a holiday drink next to festive decorations

With the holidays rapidly approaching, we here at Westminster Towers Blog suspect that those in our apartment community who are hosting a holiday meal are finishing up the planning and preparation stages. This week, we’re making your lives a little bit easier by sharing some of our favorite holiday drink recipes that will add that final touch to your meal. Consider serving one of the following at your holiday party here in Tacoma, WA:

Cranberry Mimosas

If you’re looking for a holiday twist on a classic drink served at brunch or any other get together, this cranberry mimosa recipe is right up your alley. Not only is it simple to prepare, but it’s delicious as well. Instead of the traditional orange juice used for mimosas, this recipe calls for sweetened cranberry juice as an addition to champagne or another sparkling white wine of your choice. To garnish these drinks, you’ll need fresh cranberries, sugar, limes, and small sprigs of fresh rosemary.

Wassail

When it comes to warm holiday drinks, you can’t beat a glass of traditional wassail. This mulled hot drink, typically made with a variety of fruit juices and spices, is mentioned in old holiday carols and has been a staple of the season for ages. To make this drink that the whole family can enjoy, you’ll need apple cider, orange juice, lemon juice, pineapple juice, cloves, and cinnamon sticks.

Classic Eggnog

We suspect you’ve had a glass of eggnog from a carton, but have you ever made it yourself? For those of you who aren’t fond of this classic holiday drink, we suggest trying out this recipe! You can make it alcoholic with a bit of whiskey or rum, or you can leave it out so that everyone at your holiday event can enjoy it. Key ingredients include milk, cinnamon, egg yolks, cream, nutmeg, and sugar.

Hot Buttered Rum

Hot rum is a drink many people associate with the winter months, and this recipe doesn’t disappoint. Using a combination of holiday spices, sugar, vanilla, and butter, this drink is both sweet, buttery, and flavorful. Since it’s served hot, it’s a great drink to serve at a holiday party.

We hope you enjoy these recipes this holiday season! Remember to drink responsibly.
