Homemade Halloween-Themed Treats
October is the perfect time to make an assortment of Halloween-themed treats! This week on Westminster Towers Blog, we’re sharing some of our favorite homemade treat recipes with members of our Tacoma, WA apartment community. Leading up to Halloween night itself, draw out the festivities by making one of the following treats:
For anyone who isn’t sick of pumpkin yet, these no-bake pumpkin cheesecake truffles are a must. Use gingersnap cookies, pumpkin puree, graham crackers, powdered sugar, cinnamon, and cream cheese to create the perfect base for the truffles. With white chocolate chips, make the perfect mummy-white coating to surround the truffles. Before serving, make sure to add some red eyes using food coloring!
If you haven’t yet taken a stab at homemade oreos, Halloween is a great time to try it out! This recipe uses Thomas Keller’s famous oreos, but instead of using a traditional round shape, the chocolate cookies are shaped like bats! You’ll love this recipe so much you might just find yourself making it all year round.
Are you craving ice cream? Rather than serving it in any old bowl, indulge yourself with these delicious edible bowls shaped like pumpkins! They’re made of white chocolate and orange food coloring, and all you’ll need are small balloons and a microwave to make this cute idea a reality.
You’ve heard of peppermint bark during the holidays, but this year, try out this salted caramel candy corn bark! Ingredients include pretzels, candiquik coating, caramel bits, and candy corn M&Ms. Enjoy this tasty treat!
Instead of making your standard chocolate cake this month, why not make it look like a spiderweb? This delicious recipe uses a delicious ganache topping as well as vanilla icing to create a stunning spiderweb effect on top.
