Simple Halloween Costume Ideas

a group of people trick or treating in Halloween costumes holding plastic pumpkin containers

With Halloween only a few weeks away, we here at Westminster Towers Blog assume that some members of our community are having a hard time deciding what to dress up as. This year, we’re here to help you out by sharing a few simple costume ideas to make your life easier! Whether you take inspiration for these costumes or you decide to dress up as something completely different, we hope you have a festive Halloween in Tacoma, WA.

50 Shades of Grey (Paint)

Don’t be alarmed, this costume is rated PG — and it’s sure to get a few good laughs. The 50 Shades of Grey book series and movie franchise may be a few years past its prime, but all your friends will definitely get the reference. Grab a handful of pain swatches from a local hardware store — grey, of course — and pin them all over your shirt!

Movie Theater Floor

Looking for an easy way to create a costume everyone can relate to? Grab a few boxes of your favorite movie theater treats, as well as an empty soda and popcorn container, and spread them at random across your shirt.

Green with Envy

If you need a simple couple’s costume and you’re a sucker for a good pun, then try out this costume this Halloween. It’s simple: one person dresses in as much green as possible, and the other wears visibly the word “envy” on their shirt. Practice saying your costume name in sync so that when someone asks you what you are, you can simultaneously blurt out, “green with envy!”

Brawny Man

Whether or not you have a beard, this Brawny Man costume won’t require much outside regular daily wear. Pick out your best red plaid shirt and black pants, and before you know it, you’ll look just like the Brawny Man! If you’re worried people won’t get it, stop by the grocery store before heading over to your Halloween festivities and buy a roll of Brawny paper towels.

Breadwinner

For anyone who is having a hard time choosing what to be this October, remember that puns are a great idea for Halloween costumes; not only are they a play on words, but there is an added visual component that makes these types of costumes all the more enjoyable! Consider poking fun on the idea of a “breadwinner” by wearing award medals around your neck while holding several loaves of bread.

Thanks for reading our post today. We hope that all within our apartment community find the perfect costume this Halloween.
